Deal hunters love cashback programs built into credit cards or websites like Rakuten which offer a way for shoppers to get a percentage of their purchase back.
Rakuten is interesting. They claim that stores which list on their site will offer cash backs for each purchase that get paid to the consumer at the end of the month through a direct deposit to Paypal every quarter.
Credit cards are well known for offering frequent flyer points, but there are some that offer 2% cash back such as the HSBC card. There is a good reddit post relevant to Australian users at the ausfinance subreddit.
